Scrapbooking started long ago, as a way to capture stories, photographs and momentos together.
Simple scrapbooks with plane tickets or bus stubs, photos, theatre tickets, little stories, love letters began the phenomenom, which has now grown in a huge industry! Pages now are adorned with paper flowers, silk and wooden embellishments and journalling boxes – all in a bid to tell a story and preserve a little of history.
Scrapbooking is an easy and amazingly effective way to capture your baby’s special moments. You can record everything from your pregnancy, to the birth, to meeting the new family members… first word, first step, first solids …. first day at school, first play, first soccer game …. first date, first ball, first job ….. and a million moments in between!
Scrapbooking allows you to combine little stories with quotes, photos, momentoes – think of your babe’s hospital bracelet and their precious first drawings – prints of their hands and feet, pressed leaves from a walk in the park, a card they wrote to you when they were 6.
In the scrapbook, you can take all this and make it pretty with stickers and coloured papers. Scrapbooking as we know it know generally uses acid-free or archival-quality products – products that are free from chemicals that are known to harm photos.
